The Bumpster

February 2022

The Bumpster is a new innovation in home cleaning. My client perfected the model, developed her brand, curated a pitch to investors, signed up for a trade show and even bought a QR code. She did all that work just to have her QR code send interested buyers and investors to a landing page that did not accurately reflect the quality of her product.

She needed new and improved landing site for The Bumpster. I created an easy, informative, and direct landing site for buyers and investors.

This project came with a tight deadline. Less than a week from inquiry to launch.

Dive in to my process

Audience

The bumpster was headed to a tradeshow and needed a landing page that was designed for a quick look into the product by potential investors, retailers, and interested consumers.

I began with a user story. There were 2 types of users that I wanted to design for. The first was for the basic consumer. The second user would be someone who is looking to go in to business with your brand.

Sorting Achritecture

After determining who is visiting the site I brainstormed and wrote down on color coordinated sticky notes information that each user would need answers for. I then grouped and sorted the notes, consolidated redundant needs, and organized them by importance.

Responsive Design

After organizing the architecture of the landing page I then began to think of how to style the site. First and foremost, I knew the site had to be responsive. Users would either be scanning a QR code with their phone that would send them to the landing page or they would be looking for the product online which would require a site that is also designed for a tablet or desktop.

Review

This project required very meticulous time management. From the client’s first inquiry until the time it had to be ready to launch was less than a week. This left very little margin for error. I had to be very organized as well as practical while planning my process. I knew that in order to succeed in this project we had to be realistic and selective when making design decisions such as page layout, UI, custom css, and user testing. While having a site that reflects the brand is important, the functionality of the site is paramount.
